Workshops & Seminars

The links below will take you to the websites of organizations and companies that offer different kinds of seminars and workshops. Some are for teachers only, some for students only, and some for teachers and students together. Some involve distance learning, some are f2f — face to face. With the latter, in some cases they come to your campus, and in others you go to theirs. We try to make these basic distinctions clear in our listings, which we don’t intend as recommendations of the program offerings. Indeed, we welcome your reviews of any of these, which we’ll post here at The New Eyes Project.

For Teachers: Online

  • Photographycourse.net logoPhotographyCourse.net: “Self-paced” technical instruction on assorted topics, plus an assortment of “tips & tricks,” a number of which you can easily turn into assignments.
  • School of Photography.com: Online courses.
  • VASA Project: Certificate program on teaching photography involving a series of short seminars, plus other workshops as well.

For Teachers and Students: F2F

  • MAC-On-Campus: “The MAC-On-Campus educational support program … has evolved into a partnership with a coordinated effort between the MAC Group, corporate sponsors, and local dealers — to help support and encourage schools, faculty, and students.” Free demonstrations/workshops for students and teachers, at your institution. Also a “Digital Summer Camp for Educators.” Seems mostly oriented toward college-level faculty and students, but perhaps a substantial high-school program could partner with community-college program for this. Inquire at education@MAC-On-Campus.com and let us know. If you’ve had experience with these programs, please post your comments in the Forum.
